No matter whether or not you are happy about Carmella winning the first-ever Women’s Money In The Bank match in St Louis, you can’t deny it was a well done angle. It was well executed in the fact that the moment not only matched up with Carmella’s character but it also evoked a huge response from the WWE Universe.
Carmella is obviously satisfied with herself and it looks like she’s going to have some fun with her new briefcase. She interrupted the ending of the SmackDown Women’s Title Match between Naomi and Lana and teased cashing in her newly-won briefcase. Even though she changed her mind at the last moment we can tell this probably won’t be the only time she considers cashing in her contract for a title match before actually pulling the trigger.
If you remember when Seth Rollins held the briefcase he teased many cash-ins until finally jumping at the chance at WrestleMania to end the show standing tall with a new title. Carmella might be taking a pointer from heels of the past on how she’s going to hold her briefcase too.
Carmella commented after her big win saying life is made up of moments and this is one she’ll never forget. We won’t forget it either because in all reality a man captured the first-ever Women’s Money In The Bank briefcase.
Curtis Axel is a superstar with a ton of talent but his family’s legacy alone should be enough to see he’s an amazing entertainer. But for some reason the third-generation superstar has never seemed to get a proper push in WWE.
He’s a former IC Title holder, but his runs near the top have been few and far between. At this point it’s easy to forget The Ax-Man is even on the roster at all.
Curtis Axel’s grandfather was in attendance at Money In The Bank and received a huge pop from the St Louis crowd. One fan tweeted at Curtis saying: “wow what a pop for the legend Larry ‘The Ax’ Henning just awesome well deserved.”
Axel took this chance to take a little jab at WWE creative for still not being able to figure out what to do with him. We have to wonder this too because he was experiencing a wave of resurgence with his “Axelmannia” gimmick before WWE had to cut ties with Hulk Hogan.
If anything the lack of Curtis Axel’s push might boil down to bad timing, but we certainly think he deserves another shot on top.
