Fans saw a few NXT call ups during the Raw after WrestleMania, and everyone expected to see a few more on the SmackDown Live after Mania.
Sunday night at WrestleMania 34, Charlotte Flair successfully defended the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Asuka, and on Tuesday she thanked her opponent for pushing her to the limit.
Charlotte said that now she’s looking for a new challenger, and that’s when Billie Kay and Peyton Royce’s music hit.
They introduced themselves to Charlotte and told her that even though her match with Asuka was good, it wasn’t iconic. Kay and Royce told her to stop talking about a match in the past, because she’s looking at the future.
The Iconic Duo and Charlotte then brawled but the numbers game proved to be too much for Charlotte. They beat her down then threw her over the announce table, then head first into the ring post, then shoulder first into the steel steps and powerbombed her onto the floor.
The fans chanted for Carmella.
Billie Kay and Peyton Royce picked up Charlotte’s lifeless body and put her back in the ring. They stood over her and celebrated as the crowd booed.
Carmella’s music then hit and she ran out with the briefcase then grabbed a referee.
The referee was hesitant to cash in the briefcase and asked Carmella several times if she wanted to cash in. Charlotte slowly pulled herself up and the match started.
Carmella kicked Charlotte once and pinned her to win the title.
After the match Carmella celebrated with the belt as Charlotte pulled looked on in disbelief.
