Last week was a big week for Impact Wrestling as the company taped several episodes of their weekly series and it was the first set of tapings under Jeff Jarrett’s new regime. Some new faces debuted such as Rachael Ellering and Alberto El Patron, and some old faces returned as well.
One familiar name who was in talks to return to the company is none other than former two time TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray. It was recently reported that he was negotiating a new deal with Impact Wrestling, but it fell through.
Bully Ray made his Ring of Honor debut a few days later during Manhattan Mayhem and ever since he’s had nothing but good things to say about his experience with ROH so far.
PWInsider is reporting that Bully Ray didn’t sign a new deal with Impact Wrestling because he was at odds with the creative plans that the company had pitched for him. One source noted that the belief was that his girlfriend Velvet Sky likely would have been brought back as well if Bully Ray had returned.
Bully Ray had a great run with the company before he parted ways with the promotion a few years ago and he spent the better part of a year dominating the main event scene as part of the Aces and Eights storyline. But for now if fans want to see him do his thing inside the ring they’ll have to tune in to ROH.
