Bubba Ray Dudley reached new levels of success in his career while he was employed with TNA. He developed the Bully Ray character and managed to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice.
Bully has seen a lot in the pro wrestling business. He’s been in just about every major wrestling promotion in the last twenty years and he’s held major titles everywhere he went. Therefore he realizes what it looks like when a company drops the ball.
Global Force Wrestling has reportedly been having some problems. They’re losing money like nobody’s business and apparently their parent company, Anthem Sports is looking to sell the company.
Bully Ray heard the news about GFW and he was obviously concerned. But more than that, he appeared to be worried the blame would be placed on the wrong people. Most people like to blame the talent when a wrestling company isn’t doing too well. However, Bully Ray wanted to make it very clear that the roster is not at fault.
He tweeted out: “To all the great talent in TNA, The problem IS NOT and HAS NEVER been you. Keep working hard. Hold your heads high.” He ended his message with a classy “respectfully, Bully” to give the social media message a nice formal feel.
The fact is Impact Wrestling might have been irreparable when Anthem Sports signed on the dotted line. If Billy Corgan would have secured ownership, things very well might have ended with the same unfortunate result.
But Bully wanted to make it very clear to his friends still employed at GFW that this situation is not their fault.
