The life of a professional wrestler isn’t an easy one. WWE Superstars are constantly on the road, which makes it hard to hold down a relationship, but Buddy Murphy and Alexa Bliss are making it work.
Current Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy opened up about his relationship with Bliss during an appearance on Lilian Garcia’s Chasing Glory podcast, and during the podcast he commented on Alexa’s run with Blake & Murphy when they were working as a tag team in NXT.
“Lex, in a way – I’m not gonna say we were holding her down, but look what she’s doing now,” Murphy continued. “Like, we helped her get there but I’m glad she didn’t stay with us, because then we would of [held her down]. Her talent would have gone it through anyway. Everything happens for a reason. She’s killing it, I’ve got so much of her merch.”
Buddy went on to say that even though they have opposite schedules, he supports Alexa 110%, and she’s helped him develop his character.
“Yeah, complete opposite schedules,” Murphy confirmed. “But it’s one of those things where you just kind of, to me, that’s how the cards are being dealt for now. I look at it, well, it’s only for now. So I can look at it like that, but, ya know, I support her 110%, I watch her stuff. I send her my promos. She’s the one that helped me how to speak, she’s taught me heaps. Like, I try to help her in the ring and she helps me with the character stuff.”
Buddy Murphy will be defending his Cruiserweight Title in a fatal four way match at the Royal Rumble on Sunday, and Alexa Bliss will finally be returning to the ring when she competes in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
