Bryan Danielson has been one of the top stars in professional wrestling for years now, and when he was climbing the ladder in WWE fans would often let management know that they were fully behind Bryan by chanting his name all throughout WWE events.
There were many fans who were supporting Bryan Danielson during the 2015 Royal Rumble match, but he didn’t last long as he was only in the bout for a little over 10 minutes. WWE went full steam ahead by pushing Roman Reigns to a victory and the fans didn’t react well to Roman’s Royal Rumble win.
While speaking with Renee Paquette on The Sessions at Starrcast the former WWE Champion noted that he tried to warn WWE officials that putting him in the match for a short period of time probably wasn’t the right move.
“So I knew, and I had just come back from neck surgery. When they told me what I was doing in the 2015 Royal Rumble and that I was only going to be in there for a few minutes, I said to them ‘I think this is a bad idea. This isn’t necessarily great for Roman.’”
“They kind of ignored that, stuff happened, and then yeah, that was that. All of that said, I think that Roman has done a great job and he is the biggest star in wrestling. He has performed at such a high level for such a long time, he has done a really good job.”
Bryan Danielson never did end up winning the Royal Rumble during his run with WWE, but he did manage to main event WrestleMania in 2014, and he also main evented WrestleMania once again when he faced Edge and Roman Reigns in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 37 last year.
