Bryan Danielson has had an incredible career so far, but it’s no big secret that his full-time career is coming to an end sooner than later. Danielson put his career on the line when he challenged Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship at All In last month, but luckily for Bryan Danielson he managed to walk out with the gold.
The American Dragon has won championship gold a number of times throughout his career and there’s no denying that his title win at All In was one of his biggest moments. Recently Bryan explained to Justin Barrasso of Undisputed that he asked for Jim Ross to be part of the commentary team for the match, and he shared some details about what it meant to him to have JR there.
“I asked for Jim to be part of the match. He signed me to my first wrestling contract in 2000. I wanted him to be part of the call. Jim is still fantastic. I know he’s had a lot of health issues and I’m sure getting to London was no picnic, but it meant a lot to have him there. I have also developed a really strong friendship with Tony Schiavone, so it meant the world to me that both of them could call the match.”
Bryan Danielson will be in action next week at AEW Grand Slam as he’s currently set to face off against Nigel McGuinness in a singles match at the event.
