Last year Bryan Danielson won the AEW World Championship when he defeated Swerve Strickland in the main event at All In. After winning the belt Bryan made a huge announcement when he declared that his full time in-ring career would be over when someone defeated him for the championship. In October of 2024, Jon Moxley did just that when he picked up a big victory over Bryan at WrestleDream to become a four time AEW World Champion.
While talking about a possible in-ring return with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed, Bryan Danielson was hesitant to say his in-ring career is over, but didn’t give any indication that he has solid plans to wrestle again.
“I haven’t closed it off. I don’t know. Maybe. I’ve had these delusions of wrestling a couple matches a year. The traveling alone is so taxing on my body. So I’m not sure how I could go back to wrestling.”
Currently Bryan is working as a commentator for AEW, and he addressed the transition to commentary when he said, “There’s an exhilaration to it. have a diverse array of incredible wrestlers in AEW, like Hangman Page, Bandido, and Shibata. They’re so much fun to watch, especially sitting ringside. I love wrestling, so being that close to the ring gives me real joy.”
Stay tuned for more updates on Bryan Danielson’s status as they become available.
