For weeks the wrestling world was buzzing about Bryan Danielson’s potential AEW debut, and on Sunday night he shocked the world when he showed up at All Out in Chicago.
The fans greeted Bryan Danielson with a very loud “yes” chant, but at this point it’s not clear if Danielson himself will continue doing the chant along with the signature hand gesture.
During the post show media scrum the former WWE Champion said that he’s not sure whether or not he can do the “yes” hand gesture in AEW as he doesn’t want to ruffle any feathers with WWE.
“I mean, it was awesome. I don’t know. I guess we’re gonna have to talk about it, whether I can do it or not do. So, I don’t know if that’s possible. One of the things that I do try to respect is because like I said, I appreciate the people I worked for before and respecting their intellectual property and that sort of thing. And so, try making sure I don’t contradict any of that. Fans doing it is great, but I’m not sure if I’m doing it.”
Tony Khan went on to note that there’s seemingly a chance that the chant and hand gesture may not be WWE’s intellectual property.
“Not that we are saying that it’s necessarily their intellectual property. But if it were then…”
