The Elite (Cody Rhodes, Matt Jackson, Adam Page) faced off against The Inner Circle (Santana, Ortiz, Jake Hager) in the six man tag match on AEW Dynamite this week, and The Inner Circle picked up the win to gain the advantage going into Blood and Guts.
After the match Chris Jericho grabbed a mic and started ripping on The Elite as he hyped up how they’re outnumbered going into Blood and Guts next week.
A buzzing sound could be heard as Jericho was cutting his promo, then Vanguard 1 dropped down in front of The Inner Circle and landed in the ring.
Matt Jackson got on the mic and said that he called a friend who owed him a favor, and The Elite won’t be outnumbered at Blood and Guts.
Matt Hardy’s music then hit, and Matt could be seen up in the stands looking on, then doing the “delete” hand motion, and it was confirmed he will be competing alongside The Elite next week.
Chris Jericho looked on as if he had seen a ghost as the show came to an end.
