Last year Brodie Lee publicly requested his release from WWE, and a few months ago the company announced that his release had been granted.
It had long been rumored that he was AEW bound, and he recently made his debut on Dynamite as The Exalted One.
Lee recently appeared on Talk Is Jericho and he noted that WWE continued to offer him contracts right up until he was released.
“I was offered contracts all the way up to the day they called to release me. Their (WWE’s) M.O. was to keep everyone at that time. They knew that I was gonna be gone and I was going to go to AEW as soon as I can.”
While talking about the amount of money the company offered him Lee referred to it as “ungodly.”
“It was ungodly money, like I could never even imagine making that amount of money in wrestling literally just to stay at home.”
