Last week on Raw, General Manager Kurt Angle announced that Brock Lesnar would defend his Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble in a triple threat match against Braun Strowman and Kane.
It’s a monstrous main event match and one that saw all three men come to blows in the ring, with Strowman being thrown to the outside so that Lesnar could send a message by hitting Kane with an F5.
WWE announced on their Twitter page following last night’s episode of Raw, that The Beast returns on New Year’s Day, just four weeks before he will be stepping into the ring with both men, and since Kane and Strowman both picked up confidence-boosting wins on Raw this week, it will be interesting to see what Paul Heyman has to say next week.

The odds are definitely stacked against Brock in this match, with a triple threat match meaning that he doesn’t have to be pinned to lose the title and that the match will be no disqualification. The Rumble starts the Road to WrestleMania 34, which means that if Brock has any hope of main eventing WrestleMania then he needs to find a way to retain his championship.
The New Year’s Day episode of Raw is the first one of 2018 and has already promised a Cruiserweight Championship match between Enzo Amore and Cedric Alexander, so the return of The Beast could mean that WWE is looking to kick off the new year in style.
