Kurt Angle announced this week on Raw that Brock Lesnar will defend his Universal Championship in a fatal-four-way match against Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe at SummerSlam.
This could well be his toughest task to date, but it seems that he has another obstacle to climb before he makes it to Brooklyn on August 20th. It was recently announced that Lesnar would be defending his Universal Championship against Samoa Joe this Saturday night at a SmackDown Live event in Detroit, Michigan.
The show is the final to be held at the Joe Louis Arena and it is thought that this is why the company decided to add such a high profile Raw match to the card.
Joe and Lesnar recently collided at Great Balls of Fire, with the former NXT Champion showing signs of life throughout the match until Lesnar managed to successfully retain his Universal Championship in his first defense since he defeated Goldberg at WrestleMania back in April.
The live event will not be broadcast anywhere sadly, which means that the only way to see this highly-anticipated rematch is to get tickets to the show. Paul Heyman even commented on the announcement on Twitter as WWE tries to push to make this a huge farewell show at The Joe.
