Brock Lesnar managed to pick up a big win over Omos at WrestleMania over the weekend, and on Monday Night Raw he seemingly set up a feud with Cody Rhodes when he destroyed The American Nightmare in the main event segment.
Back in January, The Beast had a brief interaction with Gunther when they crossed paths during the Royal Rumble, and Gunther has openly said that he hopes to have a one on one match with Brock Lesnar someday. During an interview with Daniel Cormier for ESPN, Brock was asked if he wants to face Gunther, and he said, “I do.”
The former Universal Champion went on to talk about how his match with Omos came together when he added, “I don’t really care… it was just proposed, and I don’t know if I don’t make the calls around here. It’s just one of those things. When this was proposed to me, I liked it because I like the challenge, and I like the matchup.”
Gunther also had a big showing at WrestleMania as he successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre in a triple threat match. It’s not clear at this point in time if WWE has any plans to move forward with a Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar match at some point in the future, but it seems that both Lesnar and Gunther are ready if the opportunity presents itself. Stay tuned for updates.
