You never know what’s going to happen when you watch a WWE premium live event, and last month Brock Lesnar shocked the world when he returned at SummerSlam. The Beast Incarnate attacked John Cena after the night 2 main event and ever since then the two stars have been on a collision course.
For weeks now the anticipation has been building for the first ever WWE WrestlePalooza premium live event, and it was recently announced that John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar had been confirmed for the card. WWE kicked off the event in a big was as John Cena clashed with Lesnar in the opening match.
After Alicia Taylor did the ring announcements for John Cena, Paul Heyman’s voice could be heard saying “ladies and gentlemen.” Heyman then made his way into the arena and he stood on the apron as he did the announcements for Brock Lesnar. He introduced The Beast Incarnate as “the last real a** kicker.”
As soon as the bell rang Cena and Lesnar charged at one another, but Brock dominated the match early on. For several minutes Cena struggled to get any offense in, but he eventually landed the Attitude Adjustment three times in a row. Cena covered Lesnar, but Brock kicked out at two.
After Brock Lesnar kicked out Cena went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Lesnar blocked it and delivered the F5 to Cena twice. He connected with a third F5, but didn’t go for the pin. Shortly after Lesnar connected with another F5 followed by another. He then pinned Cena to pick up the victory.
After the match Brock Lesnar walked around the ring then stopped and stared at Cena. He got back in the ring and hit the referee with the F5. The Beast picked Cena up then hit him with the F5 again. Brock then took off his gloves and left.
Eventually John Cena collected himself and walked up the ramp as the fans chanted “thank you Cena.”
