Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Orton at SummerSlam, and he defeated him by TKO. Near the end of the match Lesnar destroyed Orton with a barrage of strikes and Orton was busted open.
Orton started bleeding inside the ring and the referee called for the bell as trainers checked on him. After the match Orton had to receive 10 stitches to close the wound.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com, multiple sources are reporting that Chris Jericho made his way to the Gorilla Position at the end of the match to check on Orton and find out exactly what happened. The story goes that Jericho asked Michael Hayes if the ending was the planned finish for the match and Hayes wouldn’t answer which prompted Jericho to respond by saying, “That’s b******t.”
As Jericho was talking Lesnar made his way through the curtain, and thinking Jericho was talking about the match he spoke up to Jericho. One version of the story says Lesnar called Jericho a “p***y” and another version says that he told him to shut up and mind his own business.
Brock Lesnar then pushed Chris Jericho with his fingers and the two got into what is being referred to as a “Rousey-Tate” forehead press. They then got tangled up near a wall and Lesnar told Jericho to punch him or kiss him, then Triple H broke it up. The altercation continued and Vince McMahon broke it up the second time, and told Jericho to be a professional and that what happened during the match was a work.
According to the report Triple H told Vince McMahon that Lesnar started it and Chris Jericho was just defending himself. Jericho was said to be mad over Orton’s condition but Orton assured him that he was fine and everything went as planned.
