Brock Lesnar has feuded with some interesting names over the years, and during his early days with WWE he found himself involved in a feud with one-legged wrestler Zach Gowen.
Back in 2003 Brock Lesnar faced off against Zach Gowen in a singles match on SmackDown, and Brock was disqualified after he hit Gowen in the head with a steel chair. Lesnar then continued to beat down Zach Gowen while Gowen’s mother watched from the front row.
Former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree discussed the segment during an episode of his Cafe de Rene podcast and he claimed that Zach Gowen was being punished after he got caught smoking backstage.
“What I had heard is that he was caught smoking cigarettes backstage. If you’ve ever been backstage at a WWF [WWE] show, Vince [McMahon] has ‘no smoking’ signs all over the building… Remember that segment where Brock bashes his f***ing brains in with that steel chair in front of his own mother? That was punishment right there.”
Brock Lesnar is currently set to defend his WWE Championship against Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a Title vs. Title match at WrestleMania 38, and WWE confirmed today that the match will main event night 2. Stay tuned for updates.
