Ric Flair teased the possibility of him coming out of retirement for years, and a few weeks ago it finally happened when he teamed up with Andrade El Idolo to face the team of Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in his final match.
The Nature Boy managed to pick up the victory with some big names in attendance such as The Undertaker, Mick Foley and Bret Hart. Recently Bret Hart spoke to Bill Apter and Sportskeeda about Flair’s final match, and he made it clear that he appreciated Flair’s effort.
“I just congratulated him and let him know that I appreciated what he did and what he was trying to do. There’s not too many guys that have the guts to go in there and do what Ric Flair did, and I admire that about him.”
The WWE Hall of Famer was also asked how the match stands up to some of Flair’s other matches, and he applauded The Nature Boy for doing what he did.
“It wasn’t a Bret Hart-Ric Flair match. But that’s what happens when a 73-year-old guy wrestles. It’s not the easiest thing to do, and I think everyone realized how hard it was for him to do it. In the end, I stand and I applaud him.”
