Vince McMahon’s retirement has been a very hot topic in the world of professional wrestling over the last few weeks, and fans are well aware that the former CEO has an interesting history with Bret Hart.
Bret Hart and Vince McMahon have had their ups and downs over the last few decades, but Hart explained to Sportskeeda why he’s actually sad about Vince’s retirement.
“Like everybody else, I’m mostly just kind of surprised,” Hart said. “I don’t think anybody’s ever made as big a footprint as Vince McMahon. I feel kinda sad about it, actually. I know people probably think I would be gloating or happy to see him go through what he’s going [through], but I don’t. I feel bad that it happened, or whatever’s happened. I think his loss, or his absence from the business, will be sorely missed.”
Bret Hart infamously parted ways with WWE following the Survivor Series pay-per-view in 1997 and he went on to join WCW. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006 and later returned to WWE programming in 2010 to work a match with Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 26 which saw Hart pick up the victory.
