Sunday night John Cena put his WWE Championship on the line inside the Elimination Chamber as he defended against Bray Wyatt, The Miz, Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin and AJ Styles. It’s been a while since fans have seen an Elimination Chamber match and luckily this one did not disappoint.
WWE introduced a new Elimination Chamber on Sunday night, and the new structure looked a little smoother, but it still proved to be just as brutal as the original.
Last month John Cena defeated AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble to win his 16th WWE World Title, and Sunday night Styles and Cena kicked off the Elimination Chamber match as they were the first two stars in the ring.
AJ Styles and John Cena battled back and forth for a little while before Dean Ambrose made his way into the ring. Ambrose immediately set his sights on Cena but it wasn’t long before he started brawling with AJ Styles.
Bray Wyatt was the fourth participant to enter the match and he dominated as soon as he was released from his pod. Baron Corbin followed and The Miz was the last participant to enter the match.
Corbin was the first to go after Ambrose eliminated him with a roll up. Corbin didn’t react well to being eliminated, so he took his anger out on Ambrose by slamming him in to one of the pods and hitting him with End of Days. Miz took advantage and pinned Ambrose to eliminate him.
Cena eliminated Miz, then AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt ganged up on Cena. Bray Wyatt eventually his Cena with Sister Abigail to eliminate him from the match.
Bray Wyatt and AJ Styles battled back and forth for a while but neither man could score the pin. Styles went for a Phenomenal Forearm but Bray Wyatt reversed it into Sister Abigail to win the WWE Title.
Randy Orton then made his way down to the ringside area and he stared at Bray Wyatt as Bray celebrated with the title as the show went off the air.
Last month Randy Orton won the Royal Rumble match and it looks like he and Bray Wyatt are set to collide at WrestleMania 33 in April.
