Monday night The Ultimate Deletion finally aired on Raw, and most fans seem to feel that it lived up to the hype. Woken Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt have been feuding for months, but in the end it was Matt Hardy who won the match after he hit Bray with the Twist of Fate, and threw him into the Lake of Reincarnation.
Matt later told Senor Benjamin to retrieve the body, but when Benjamin looked in the lake there was nothing. Matt appears to be under the impression that Bray has been deleted, and The Great War is over, but this could be the start of a new beginning for Bray Wyatt.
On the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that Bray Wyatt may be getting repackaged following The Ultimate Deletion.
“So I guess he’s gonna come back different. I think it’s nine months past time, maybe a year past time of repackaging. I don’t know what he’ll do. But hopefully it’s something completely different because that other character ran its course a long time ago.”
There’s no denying that Bray Wyatt is in need of a fresh start as he’s consistently been the victim of bad booking over the last few years.
There are a lot of directions WWE could go with Bray following his feud with Hardy, but let’s just hope that none of them lead to him taking on the persona of Sister Abigail.
