WWE has released a number of surprising names this year, and wrestling fans were shocked when WWE announced that former Universal Champion Braun Strowman had been released from his WWE contract back in June. Since then fans have been waiting to see what’s next for Braun Strowman, and it appear that he had eyes on SummerSlam on Saturday night.
Sheamus put his United States Championship on the line against Damian Priest at SummerSlam, and in the end it was Priest who defeated Sheamus to win the belt for the first time in his career.
Braun Strowman reacted to the victory when he posted a picture of Priest with the US Title in an Instagram story along with a simple caption saying “Fight me!!!!”
Following his WWE release Mark Henry confirmed that there is “interest on both sides” in regards to Strowman possibly joining AEW. It’s also rumored that WWE is interested in bringing Strowman back to the company. Stay tuned for updates.
