It’s been a while since fans have seen John Cena wrestle a match in a WWE ring, but Cena is set to return to SmackDown on Friday night, presumably to set up a match for WrestleMania 36.
There have been various rumors floating around in regards to who John Cena could face this year, but Booker T recently shared his thoughts on a potential Cena match at Mania on his Hall of Fame podcast, and he picked Roman Reigns to be Cena’s opponent.
“Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns being the guy now, John Cena being the guy who has put in so much time, one of the greatest WWE Champions in history. I know John Cena could pull it off, I know Roman Reigns could pull it off.
I know that’s a match going into it on paper that a lot of people on paper are going to say I don’t know if I want to see this. I know also that both of those guys are shakespearean, both of those guys know the art of going out there and doing Romeo and Juliet.”
It was recently reported that the WrestleMania 36 card is going through major changes, so it will be interesting to see who Cena ends up facing on the Grandest Stage of Them All this year.
One way or another we should have a better idea of how things will shake out when Friday rolls around.
