Jeff Hardy was released from WWE back in December following an incident at a live event, but it was later reported that the company offered to bring him back and also offered to induct him into the Hall of Fame.
Matt Hardy later confirmed that WWE offered to induct Jeff Hardy into the Hall of Fame, and he noted that Jeff gave the company a hard no after he was told that Matt would not be inducted with him due to his status with AEW.
Booker T recently discussed WWE’s offer to Jeff Hardy on his Hall of Fame podcast, and said that he totally understands why Jeff gave WWE the response he did.
“You know what, I get it, I totally understand. Those guys worked in that company together for years, and they started there together. They’re originals as far as WWF goes, those guys are originals. I think the Hardys, I really think they want to finish it the way they started it, together. There’s nothing wrong with that.
“I give them all the props in the world for wanting to do it like that. I wish me and my brother could have finished it like that. Honestly, the way I started it. And I wanted to finish it the way I started it, and that was with my brother. That didn’t get a chance to come to fruition. But these guys still have time to make something like that happen.”
Matt Hardy recently revealed when Jeff’s non-compete clause is set to expire and you can get more on that here.
