You never know who might show up at Monday Night Raw, and this week it was reported that former WWE Champion CM Punk made a surprise appearance backstage. Punk reportedly spoke with several talents and even cleared the air with The Miz. His reason for showing up at Raw is unknown, but it seems that there are some people in the company who believe he wants to return.
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Booker T addressed CM Punk’s appearance on his Hall of Fame podcast, and he explained why he thinks it was unwise for CM Punk to show up at Raw.
“I’m gonna tell you, him showing up unexpectedly in a show in Chicago, I don’t think it was wise first of all. And I don’t think, you know, he should have thought it was going to be a pleasant greeting. He could’ve gotten into a fight.”
CM Punk hasn’t appeared on AEW programming since the All Out pay-per-view last year and he was infamously involved in a backstage altercation with The Elite after the show. However, it’s been reported in recent weeks that Punk is expected to return to AEW soon to be the star of the company’s rumored Saturday show. Stay tuned for updates.
