Booker T On Why He May Have To Put His Plans To Run For Mayor On Hold

Booker T knows what it’s like to make it to the top of the wrestling business, but the WWE Hall of Famer is currently pursuing other interests.

A few years ago he announced his intentions to run for Mayor of Houston, TX in 2019, but it looks like he may have to put his plans on hold.

Booker was recently a guest on the WINCLY podcast, and he explained that some issues from his past are preventing him from running.

“I’m coming across a couple bumps. That’s been the story of my life, obstacles; trying to figure a way over them, around them, under them, sometimes you have to go straight through them. There’s obstacles that have to do with my past, and I’m running out of time more than anything.”

Even though the deadline is approaching, Booker T still plans to pursue his goal in the future if things don’t work out for him this time around.

“This month is my deadline, and with what I got going on with the state of Texas, it doesn’t look like it’s gonna allow me to actually run this term. But we got four more years ahead of us, and that’s my ultimate goal in the long run.”
