Bobby Roode and Eric Young finished up with TNA on Saturday night and everybody’s wondering what the two former World Champions are going to do next. Bobby Roode recently spoke to The Peterborough Examiner about his departure and why he decided to leave the company. Roode said that he just felt there was nothing left for him to do in TNA.
“It felt like it was the right time. After almost 13 years in a wrestling company I felt like there was nothing really left for me to do there. I wanted to mutually part ways. I have nothing negative to say about TNA Wrestling. They treated me very, very well. It was just a matter of me being in a part of my life where I’m not sure TNA was the right fit for me anymore. The brand has been stale for the last little while and the growth wasn’t there as it was in the early years.”
He went on to talk about what’s next for his career and he said that a few phone calls have been put out to him, but he hasn’t dug too deep into anything yet. Roode said his big focus is finding his passion for the business once again.
“This is my first 24 hours of freedom so I’m taking baby steps and enjoying some time at home. The one thing I want to do is to find that passion again to wrestle. I kind of burnt out a little bit. Hopefully that will come back and you’ll see me somewhere else real soon.”
