Bobby Roode Discusses His Character On SmackDown Live

Everyone loves Bobby Roode and fans can’t get enough of his Glorious entrance and theme song. The Impact Wrestling alumn went to NXT first where he promptly captured the top title in WWE’s developmental territory and carried it for 203 Glorious days.

After losing his NXT Title to Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver Brooklyn: III, Bobby Roode had little more he needed to accomplish in NXT. Therefore he promptly made his Glorious entrance on the SmackDown Live following The Biggest Party Of The Summer.

The Glorious One recently spoke to Gamespot where he went into a little depth about how it felt appearing on SmackDown Live in a packed Barclays Center following SummerSlam 2017. But he can never replace the experience he had while in WWE’s developmental territory.

“Of course being on SmackDown is a huge career highlight for me. I really enjoyed my time in NXT. It was an amazing experience there, but you can’t get complacent in this business. Obviously being on SmackDown, there are a lot of guys there that I wanna get in the ring with.”

Bobby also discussed his Glorious character and talked about what he wants to do in the ring. He’s looking to have as much fun in WWE’s spotlight as he can and admits he is living his dream.

“As far as the character goes, I’m just out there having fun. I got a smile on my face, and why wouldn’t I? I’m getting an opportunity to live my dream, go out there every week, and be a part of SmackDown Live and make SmackDown Live ‘Glorious.'”

Bobby Roode has worked himself extremely hard to get to the point he’s at today. Even in Impact Wrestling he was a standout with a ton of potential. But everything seemed to really click once Roode arrived in NXT and allowed WWE’s Performance Center to put that little bit of polish on him and take him to a Glorious new level.
