Nowadays WWE has three strong brands, but back in 2006 the company was trying to establish their version of ECW as a legitimate third brand. The company put on one ECW pay-per-view which was called December To Dismember and issues between Paul Heyman and WWE management boiled over at the show.
The Hardys competed against MNM at the event and on a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast Matt Hardy recalled Paul Heyman being removed from the building and escorted off the property.
”It was done pretty brutally. I just remember how he was just escorted out of the building and off the property. I hope I’m not mistaken, I wanna say like there was issue where Vince said that he had received some intel he shouldn’t have been receiving, and they didn’t know what he was doing with it. I know Vince and the office were very upset with him. He was recorded out of the property and fired.”
It seems that this era was a bit of a rough patch for Paul Heyman’s relationship with WWE, but as we all know things worked out in the end as he’s currently featured regularly on TV as a member of The Bloodline.
