PWInsider is reporting that TNA President Billy Corgan has filed a lawsuit against TNA against TNA Impact Wrestling, its parent company Impact Ventures LLC, TNA Chairman Dixie Carter, TNA Chief Financial Officer Dean Broadhead and Serg Salias, the husband of Dixie Carter. The lawsuit was reportedly filed on on 10/12 in the Chancery Court of Nashville, TN.
Based on documents obtained from the court, a temporary restraining order has been issued, and Corgan filed a bond to support it on Thursday. The documents also reveal that Corgan has requested a six person jury to decide the case, and a hearing has been set for a temporary injunction that will take place on Thursday, October 20.
At this time that’s all that is known as the filings have been sealed “until further notice” according to the court documents.
It was recently reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that tensions are high between Dixie Carter and Billy Corgan. It’s no big secret that various parties have a stake in the company, and there’s reportedly heat on Carter from Corgan, Aroluxe, and John Gaburick for not getting any deals done.
Billy Corgan joined TNA in 2015, and he became a minority owner earlier this year when he put up the money for Slammiversary, and he continued to invest in the company over the months that followed. In August Billy Corgan was appointed the new president of TNA.
Corgan has spoken publicly about his intentions to purchase the company and rebrand it. However, as he’s said several times, the situation is complicated and judging from this lawsuit it’s likely only going to get more complicated as time goes on.
