WWE Crown Jewel is shaping up to be a big event, as it’s set to feature the in-ring return of Shawn Michaels, as well as Daniel Bryan’s first WWE Championship match in years.
However, the event is currently quite controversial.
Washington Post journalist and Saudi national Jamal Khashoggi disappeared a few weeks ago, and intelligence reports suggest that he was killed.
It’s suspected that the Saudi government may have possibly been involved in Jamal’s death, and several United States senators have urged WWE to reevaluate their relationship with Saudi Arabia.
PWInsider is reporting that as of right now the show is still moving forward, and WWE officials are currently working out the logistics for the event.
WWE released a statement saying that they are monitoring the situation, but the show is still scheduled to go on as advertised.
