The Royal Rumble premium live event is quickly approaching which means WrestleMania season will be here soon. Each and every year WWE usually has a few tricks up their sleeve when it comes to surprise returns and it’s been rumored that former NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane could be returning for a Royal Rumble appearance.
A possible Kairi appearance would certainly raise eyebrows as the former WWE star is the current IWGP Women’s Champion. However, Dave Meltzer shared an update on Kairi’s Royal Rumble status on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he indicated that she won’t be in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
“As of today, there is nothing to the idea of KAIRI wrestling in the Royal Rumble. There is nothing in the pipeline, zero percent in the pipeline, as of today in that direction.”
The Royal Rumble premium live event will take place from the Alamodome on Saturday, January 28, 2023. So far Kofi Kingston is the only confirmed competitor for a Royal Rumble match. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
