On Sunday night the annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view took place from Minute Maid Park in Houston, TX and Charlotte Flair earned the right to go to WrestleMania when she won the women’s Royal Rumble match.
Charlotte is currently on Raw, and Becky Lynch is the current Raw Women’s Champion.
However, it was later reported that plans call for Becky Lynch to face NXT star Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 36, and that Charlotte won’t be facing SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley at the event.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that internally the match listing shows Charlotte Flair vs. NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Rhipley on the card for WrestleMania 36.
As noted other matches planned for WrestleMania 36 include Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Title, Roman Reigns vs. The Fiend for the Universal Title and Edge vs. Randy Orton.
