Last month John Cena returned to WWE at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view and shortly after he made it clear that he wanted to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at SummerSlam. Cena got what he wanted, but unfortunately he did not pick up the victory as he was defeated by The Tribal Chief at SummerSlam on Saturday night.
PWInsider is now reporting that following his loss at SummerSlam John Cena is now done with future WWE appearances due to his filming commitments.
Cena is currently only scheduled for the 9/10 Friday Night SmackDown taping at Madison Square Garden. Beyond that WWE is moving forward with the idea that John Cena is not available for future appearances, and there’s no timetable for his return.
Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
