We’re only days away from WWE Crown Jewel, and Monday night on Raw Baron Corbin made a big change to the World Cup tournament when he announced that Bobby Lashley will be replacing John Cena
It was recently reported that both John Cena and Daniel Bryan told WWE officials they wouldn’t be traveling to Saudi Arabia for the show.
PWInsider is now reporting that they’ve confirmed Daniel Bryan will not be going to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel.
According to the report, Bryan made it clear he won’t be going to Saudi Arabia, and WWE officials started making other plans this week.
He is currently being advertised for a WWE Championship match with AJ Styles.
One idea which was reportedly discussed would have seen AJ Styles wrestle Daniel Bryan at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, and the title match would have aired as part of the Crown Jewel broadcast. However, that idea was dropped.
Styles and Bryan are set to have a confrontation on SmackDown tonight, but it’s not clear what WWE officials are going to do about the title match. It’s been speculated that Styles could face someone else at Crown Jewel, or the title match could get moved up to SmackDown tonight, but a final decision has yet to be made.
