A few months ago Jinder Mahal shocked the world when he defeated Randy Orton to win the WWE Championship at Backlash. Jinder went from jobber to WWE Champion basically overnight, and his rise to the top of WWE has been a very hot topic among fans over the past few months. The response to Jinder’s title reign has been mixed, but it looks like Mahal’s run with the belt will likely be coming to an end sooner rather than later.

Sportskeeda is reporting that WWE officials are planning to take the belt off of Jinder Mahal in the near future based on the results of their quarterly reports. WWE officials hoped that Jinder Mahal’s push would lead to more growth in the Indian market, but the company is said to be disappointed with their network subscribers.
Jinder Mahal is set to defend his WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura at SummerSlam, so it’s possible that Mahal will be dropping the belt at the big event.
However, even if Jinder does drop the belt at SummerSlam, that doesn’t necessarily mean Nakamura will be walking out with it, as the threat of Baron Corbin cashing in the Money in the Bank contract is looming over the title match.
