Business has certainly been picking up in the AEW tag team division over the last few months and The Acclaimed are currently at the forefront. The Acclaimed managed to defeat Swerve In Our Glory to become AEW Tag Team Champions at Grand Slam back in September and they’ve been holding the gold ever since.
Ahead of the December 7 episode of Dynamite it’s been announced that The Acclaimed will defend their AEW Tag Team Titles against none other than FTR.

This week The Acclaimed appeared on AEW Rampage and they addressed Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Anthony Bowens said that if they want a shot at the titles they can’t cut the line, so they have to wait. Bowens then said there’s a tag team that’s been waiting a long time to get a shot at the belts and the fans started chanting for FTR. Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn made their way out, but they were interrupted by Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt.
Billy Gunn then said that they want the best and FTR entered to a big pop from the crowd. FTR then made their way down to the ring and shook hands with The Acclaimed.
FTR previously won the AEW Tag Team Titles at All Out in 2020 and they went on to drop the belts to The Young Bucks a few months later at Full Gear. Stay tuned for updates.
