The AEW Full Gear pay-per-view aired live on Saturday night and Hikaru Shida put the AEW Women’s Championship on the line against Toni Storm at the event.
Both women fought hard from bell to bell, but in the end it was Toni Storm who walked away with the gold. Throughout the match Toni Storm tried to use foreign objects to pick up the victory. Luther also interfered when he tried to take a kendo stick from Hikaru Shida, but Shida ended up hitting Luther with the kendo stick instead.
The end of the match finally came when Toni Storm shoved a metal plate down the back side of her trunks then ran full speed into Hikaru Shida who was sitting in the corner as she drove the plate into Shida’s head. Toni Storm then pinned Hikaru Shida to win the AEW Women’s Championship for the third time in her career.
After the match Mariah May made her way down to the ring and presented Toni Storm with flowers. Storm then celebrated with the flowers as the fans cheered.
