At SummerSlam Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe in a fatal four-way match. This week on Raw, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman appeared in the opening segment, and the three other competitors from the fatal four-way destroyed each other in a triple threat match.

The triple threat match was action packed, and when it was first announced most fans assumed that it would be the main event of Monday Night Raw this week, but that wasn’t the case. Instead WWE officials opted to have Big Show face off against Big Cass in the main event, and the decision left many fans scratching their heads.
According to Sportskeeda, WWE decided to make some changes based on the results of their quarterly reports. The company is reportedly disappointed with the WWE Network subscriber numbers, and ratings for Raw.
The numbers reveal that the third hour of Raw has failed to beat the second hour of Raw every week in 2017. Viewership for the second hour has been stronger than the third regardless of what’s booked in the main event.
The company has decided to book more main event matches at the end of the second hour, which is why the triple threat match was placed earlier on the card, and an underwhelming match was booked for the main event.
