Daniel Bryan has been retired for a few years now, but neither he nor the fans have lost hope in regards to a possible in-ring return for the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Bryan was recently asked about a potential in-ring return and whether or not WWE could clear him for WrestleMania, and he noted that as of right now he hasn’t been cleared.
“I don’t know and I don’t think they know. I think it all depends on whether or not I get cleared. As of this moment, as of today, I am not cleared by WWE,” Daniel Bryan told The National.
WrestleVotes is claiming that Bryan was actually approached weeks ago about a scenario that could see him work WrestleMania, but he turned it down as it wasn’t what he wanted.
Since the questions have intensified, I can’t confirm anything re: Daniel Bryan. Was told by a source weeks ago they approached him about working Mania & Bryan declined as it wouldn’t be nearly want he wants. Light work, little to no bumps etc. No idea what the story is as of now

It would make perfect sense for Bryan to be involved with the Shane McMahon/Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn storyline at Mania in some way shape or form, but after last week’s episode of SmackDown Live it’s unclear exactly how this feud is going to play out at the Show of Shows.
One way or another Daniel Bryan will be returning to SmackDown Live this week, so hopefully we’ll be getting more answers in regards to whether or not he’ll have a role to play at WrestleMania 34.
