NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III was an incredible night of action. The morning after the event it feels like there was a big party last night and we still have the Biggest Party Of The Summer on Sunday night. It’s going to be a fun weekend!
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez recently spoke about TakeOver: Brooklyn III and discussed how great the show was on Wrestling Observer Radio. They also brought up the fact that there was a new addition to the NXT roster last night in the form of a former three time ROH World Champion Adam Cole
Meltzer discussed what kind of implications having a guy like Adam Cole will mean for the future of NXT. But things were really intriguing when they spoke about how WWE’s main roster might get an NXT boost very soon.
Meltzer said the end of show was about Drew McIntyre winning the NXT Title and then being jumped by reDRagon and Adam Cole, “with Adam Cole being the key to this. Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly are going to be going for the tag titles because they interfered with SAnitY after SAnitY won the belts. So I think that you know you may have some stuff where you have Fish, O’Reilly, and Cole against SAnitY and McIntyre. I think you’ll probably have that in some things. But essentially it looks like Cole and McIntyre are gonna be the big thing which if that’s the case, then that’s certainly Bobby Roode still has the Roderick Strong thing to blow-off but it still could be that Roode’s on the main roster real soon.”
Bryan Alvarez said he thought Roode yelled “goodbye NXT!” when he was on the top turnbuckle but it sounded more like he said, “this is my NXT!” which is something he’s been yelling for a long time.
“Obviously they showed Daniel Bryan and they showed Kurt Angle you know in the skyboxes scouting,” Dave said.
“The point is they were scouting because there are guys who are gonna be coming up soon,” Alvarez interjected.
“There are some guys coming up and there are gonna be some changes on the roster. Shelton Benjamin’s coming in as well,” Meltzer concluded. “The tea leaves read like Bobby Roode is on his way and he should be on his way and they’re super high on Bobby Roode right now. Whereever he goes I think he’ll be a top guy on the brand, get the big push and McIntyre’s going to have his run on top with Cole who I think eventually will get his run on top as well.”
