More Big Names Spotted In Philadelphia Ahead Of The WWE Royal Rumble

Possible spoilers ahead. With NXT Takeover set to air on the WWE Network tonight, and the Royal Rumble pay-per-view set to air tomorrow, it’s a huge weekend for wrestling fans.

When it comes to pay-per-views, you can usually count on a few big surprises happening at the Royal Rumble, and there are a few big names in Philadelphia that have people talking.

The Undertaker and Michelle McCool were recently spotted in the area, and now PWInsider is reporting that WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, new WWE signees Ricochet and Candice LeRae, and former Impact Wrestling World Champion EC3 are also in town.

WWE did officially announce the signings of Ricochet and Candice LeRae, but no official announcement has been made regarding EC3’s status. However, it was recently reported that he is WWE bound.

Ethan Carter III finished up with Impact Wrestling at the most recent set of tapings, and he’s now free and clear to work wherever he wants, which means a Royal Rumble appearance isn’t out of the question.

But at this point it’s not known if WWE intends for him to join the NXT brand, or go straight to the main roster.

NXT Takeover events have a history of featuring big debuts, so perhaps we’ll see EC3 make a quick appearance tonight.

Perhaps we won’t be seeing EC3 at all this weekend, but it’s worth noting that he was recently pulled from an independent event that is set to take place on Royal Rumble Sunday.
