Last week the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony aired live following Friday Night SmackDown, and the stars were out for the big event. The 2023 class featured some memorable names as Rey Mysterio, Stacy Keibler, Andy Kaufman, Tim White and The Great Muta were all inducted.
Ric Flair inducted The Great Muta, but it doesn’t sound like The Nature Boy stuck with the original plans for his speech. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony there was a teleprompter with planned speeches that were written and approved. However, it’s being said that pretty much everyone except Ric Flair read them.
The Nature Boy reportedly didn’t read the teleprompter and just gave a speech that had nothing to do with his script until the end of the speech when he eventually got back on script. It was noted that the stuff Flair said about Riki Choshu, Tenryu and Fujinami was actually in his script.
Following the Hall of Fame induction ceremony it was reported that Konnan’s induction speech for Rey Mysterio was well received backstage, and that the opposite was said for Flair’s speech.
