At the beginning of Monday Night Raw Big E declared that he would be cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on this week’s episode, and he wasn’t kidding.
Bobby Lashley managed to successfully defend his title against Randy Orton in the main event, and Lashley picked up the victory when he put Orton away with a spear.
After the match Lashley attacked Riddle and Randy Orton on the outside of the ring. Bobby put Randy Orton through the announce table, and as he was getting back in the ring he started limping while the announcers teased that he tweaked his knee while putting Orton through the table.
That’s when Big E’s music hit and he ran down to the ring with a referee as he prepared to cash in his contract. Lashley tried to refuse to defend his title because of his injured knee, but Big E slapped him and the referee called for the bell.
The fans were very much behind Big E as he went for a Big Ending, but Lashley reversed it into a spear. Big E kicked out. Lashley went for the Dominator, but Big E got Lashley in the Big Ending for the win. After the match The New Day came down to the ring to celebrate with the new WWE Champion.
