In the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 33 there were a lot of rumors making the rounds in regards to the future of Matt and Jeff Hardy. After parting ways with Impact Wrestling they briefly worked with ROH, but fans let the Hardys know that they wanted to see them in WWE.
It seemed that even more gasoline was thrown on the fire when a ladder match for the Raw Tag Team Titles was announced for WrestleMania 33, and the Hardys made their surprise return then went on to win the belts on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Other teams in the match included Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Cesaro and Sheamus, and Enzo Amore and Big Cass. During a recent interview with Inside The Ropes Big Cass opened up about what was going through his head during the match, and he also revealed what he said to Enzo.
“I’m sure I said something along the lines of… ‘Did you hear that motherf***ing pop? That was crazy!’ But yeah, being in the ring, like, there was speculation but really… The six people in the ring and the few people backstage were the only people that knew what was about to happen. While we were all in the ring, all six of us with the belt above us, circling each other, we all knew it was about to happen and it’s pretty cool feeling because we were excited and anticipating what was about to happen because we knew how the fans were going to react. So that moment, right before The New Day came out super… It was just, it was really tense, but really exciting, and it was cool to be in there with those five other guys.”
