Big Cass Reportedly Involved In Heated Altercation With AEW Star At Indie Event

Big Cass and Enzo Amore are always a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling, and on Saturday night Cass was booked to appear as a surprise entrant in a battle royal at a WrestlePro event in Rahway, NJ.

PWInsider is reporting that backstage at the event Cass was said to be acting “aggressive and erratic” throughout the evening. His behavior led to several incidents and he was eventually kicked out of the Rahway Rec Center.

At one point Big Cass confronted AEW star Joey Janela in a threatening manner and was said to be looking for a physical confrontation. Big Cass’ hostility toward Joey Janela apparently stemmed from Janela’s run in with Enzo Amore at a Blink-182 show a few months ago.

One source believed that Big Cass slapped Janela, but that hasn’t been confirmed. Ironically Big Cass and Janela were in the same locker room the night before at a Northeast Wrestling event and there were no issues at all.

WrestlePro’s Kevin Matthews approached Big Cass and defused the situation for a moment.

However, Cass continued to be loud and belligerent toward Janela, and Dan Maff warned WrestlePro that he would have to step in if Cass didn’t calm down. Maff is known to be a professional backstage so him wanting to step in indicates that Big Cass was in the wrong.

Maff and Janela were later moved to a private room so they could call their match, and keep Big Cass separated from them.

According to four different sources, Cass later made his way through the locker room and accused several people of stealing a sweater, and insinuated that he was going to beat people up.

Cass ended up in a smaller backstage area where SCU and Pat Buck were calling their match, and he again started acting in a threatening manner while accusing people of stealing their belongings. He reportedly looked at Pat Buck and said “What are you going to do, tough guy? before spitting in Buck’s face.

Buck was backed up against a wall and reportedly took Cass down with one punch. Pat Buck then grabbed Cass and controlled him on the floor while several other wrestlers stepped in.

It was noted that when Big Cass hit the floor his entire demeanor changed, and he started questioning why he was hit and what was going on.

Local police were then asked to remove Cass from the building.

The general consensus in the locker room is that Cass was completely unprofessional. It’s being said that some were so angry that had Cass remained in the locker room the wrestlers would have removed him themselves, but they were trying to be professional with someone who wasn’t being professional.

There was a lot of sympathy for Pat Buck given that it was his WrestlePro farewell, and he was put in a situation where he had no choice but to defend himself.

According to fans who attended the event, Big Cass remained outside with police after the show was over and the cops searched his car. Cass sat down on the sidewalk and loudly made remarks about himself that concerned authorities enough that they called an ambulance to take him to a local hospital.
