Big Cass On Vince McMahon’s Reaction To Him Going Off Script

When Big Cass was moved to the SmackDown brand in the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-Up, he found himself on the receiving end of a decent push, and he also ended up in a feud with former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

However, shortly after he was defeated by Bryan at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view he was released from his WWE contract.

Cass opened up about his WWE release on Talk Is Jericho, and he noted that mental health issues, alcohol problems and bad decisions led to his release.

He also talked about the infamous incident where he went off script, and he revealed his reasoning for taking the segment too far.

“I went out there in Montreal, very smart mark crowd, and when I gave the little person the boot, I looked out in the crowd and, this segment was designed to get me mega heat, like mega fucking heat, and after I did that, I looked out in the crowd and to be honest with you, I’d say half the people were laughing, I guess they thought it was funny. And in my mind, I was thinking, this is not what they want behind the curtain. This was specifically designed to get me like, uber, uber heat.”

“So then I was panicking because I was like, this is not the reaction they want, so then I did what I thought was right [continued to beat up the little person]. And when I got back through the curtain, it was very, very bad. It was a bad night for me.”

He also made it very clear that Vince McMahon was not happy with his decision to go off script.

“That is the understatement of the century. Furious. He was furious.”
