Big Cass and Enzo Amore were one of the most popular tag teams in NXT, and luckily for them they were well received when they made their debut on the WWE main roster in 2016. But eventually their tag team fell apart when Big Cass decided to turn on Enzo.
For months the former friends feuded, and it seemed that their feud was set to wrap up the night after SummerSlam when they faced off in a street fight on Raw, but unfortunately for Cass he was injured during the match.
Cass later underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL, and he’s currently sitting on the sidelines getting ready for his return.
He recently appeared on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, and he gave an update on his status saying that he should be returning to the ring shortly after WrestleMania 34.
“I’m in way better spirits than I was back in Barclays Center, that’s for sure. I’m right on schedule, from what the surgeon said. So, it should be shortly after WrestleMania,” Cass said.
With his return still a few months away it will be interesting to see how Cass is booked when he returns, as it looked like he was in line for a singles push before he suffered an untimely injury.
