The list of inductees for the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class is quite impressive as it includes Kurt Angle, Diamond Dallas Page, The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Rick Rude, Teddy Long and Beth Phoenix.
The list of inductors is also pretty impressive as it includes names such as JBL, Ron Simmons, Ricky Steamboat, Eric Bischoff, Jim Cornette and John Cena. The only member of the Hall of Fame class who has yet to have an inductor assigned to them was Beth Phoenix, but that has changed because WWE has confirmed that Natalya will do the honors.
Natalya and Beth Phoenix had an intense rivalry and an even better friendship during The Glamazon’s run with the company, and they worked hard to put women’s wrestling on the map before it became what it is today. Natalya spoke to WWE.com about the Hall of Fame induction and she explained what made Beth Phoenix stand out in the division.
“Beth broke down a lot of walls for women in the industry in the sense that she wasn’t a cookie-cutter-type female wrestler,” Natalya explained. “She was bigger than the other girls, she was muscular and dominant, she was strong. At different stages in WWE, that wasn’t always the ‘in’ thing. Beth did it her way and stayed true to who she was. She believed in herself and blazed her own trail.”
The WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony will air live on the WWE Network on March 31st.
