This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown took place from Wichita, KS and during the show Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch swapped their belts.
PWInsider is now reporting that Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch got into a confrontation backstage following this week’s episode of SmackDown.
Before SmackDown went on the air Charlotte reportedly expressed concerns about the belt exchange segment noting that she didn’t want to look weak, and that she didn’t want her title reign to look weak either.
There was a moment during the championship exchange segment where Flair was supposed to hand Becky Lynch the belt, but instead dropped the belt on the mat, and that was not the original plan. Becky Lynch followed up by throwing her title belt at Flair and that was also not part of the plan.
The segment got back on track when Sasha Banks came out, but after it was over Flair went backstage and there was a heated confrontation over Charlotte allegedly disrespecting Becky Lynch by “trying to make her look bad.”
It’s being said that there were “loud words” between the two, and that the confrontation was heated, but did not get physical.
